It's Official...

He's a Yellow Belt! Conrad had his first belt test in karate, which he passed. I think the thing he was the most excited about was having his old belt tied around his head. He was so proud of his new yellow belt, that he wore it all day long! He tells almost every one he talks to that he is a Yellow belt. But... if he does karate on his sister, he has to do knuckle push-ups on the cold sidewalk! He has learned to keep his karate at the Dojo! And yes... he does bow to his Sensei.

Death of a Family Pet

After 13 lovely months with us... Flappy-Finney-Finderella died. Sophie was not convinced of this for nearly a week. I told her we were going to have a fish funeral, and flush "her." This made Sophie very distraught. She begged to keep "her," longer, and only the promise of a new fish finally made her agree to send Flappy-Finney-Finderella back to the ocean - because all drains lead to the ocean - right? Well, we had a funeral in the bathroom, said a prayer, and flushed her, as the tears rolled down Sophie's face. Her Yiayia bought her a new fish that she named Flara. She also got one for Conrad, which he affectionately named Dino. I think everything is going to be alright.

LITTLE BUDDIES

We went Snow Shoeing a few weeks ago.
The kids are so tough...
they didn't want to be pulled in the sled.
It did slow our trip down a bit,
but the memories were worth it!

The kids LOVE to play trains with their dad.
They get all dressed up in hats and bandannas.
They had a good giggly time after spending the night with dad.

Of course we are taking Soph and Conrad with us in the move!

Big sisters are so good at teaching their little
brothers how to do grown up things!

THE NEW HOUSE

After 2 1/2 months, it is finally starting to feel like home.

A view of the kitchen from the hall.

I LOVE my back splash!

I love that I have 2 different granites in my kitchen.
I wanted a variety with out painting anything.

Yes... I still LOVE purple. I was going to try not to do it in this house,
but I can't seem to get away from it!
